St Andrews Graduate Conference in International Political Theory
On the 21st April, Scotland’s first university hosts the 5th Annual St Andrews Graduate Conference in International Political Theory.
The theme of the conference is Rethinking the Politics of Freedom. The notion of freedom underpins the entirety of our body of ethical, legal and political thought, and it is only through implicit or explicit reference to freedom that we are able to discuss its antitheses -impotence, subjection, incarceration, and captivity – and why they are problematic.
The conference organisers look to IPT as a way of exploring how the prism of social and political thought can be engaged to relate meaningfully to the ever-changing realities of the global stage.
