Fiona joined the University of St Andrews in 2019 as an Administrator in Academic Registry, initially in a casual role. Her role soon developed into a full-time fixed-term position before becoming permanent.
Later in 2019, Fiona moved to Research and Innovation Services, where she continued to build her experience and take on new challenges. During this time, she also provided support as Personal Assistant to the Vice-Principal for Research.
In 2022, Fiona joined IT Services as a Business Productivity Specialist. Many colleagues across the University will know Fiona from her friendly and engaging IT induction sessions. She has delivered over 200 inductions, both online and in person, helping new members of staff feel welcome and confident in using the University’s digital tools. Fiona has also been instrumental in supporting and delivering many IT events, always bringing enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
Fiona is known for being approachable and incredibly helpful, always ready to volunteer her time and step in to support others.
Fiona’s contributions across Registry, Research and Innovation Services, and IT Services have been greatly valued. She will be missed, both for her hard work and for the warmth and support she brought to her colleagues and the wider University community.

Happy Retirement to Jane Gordon who will be retiring on 31 July! Jane began working in the university in 1993 and since June 1994 has been a central pillar of the professional services team in English. She has seen through 11 different Heads of School and the School's own elevation from 'Department' to 'School'.
Wishing her all the very best for this exciting new phase in her life.
