Please join us at the first event of the Centre for Evidence and Values in Healthcare. We are delighted to welcome Sir David Haslam, previous chair of the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, The Royal College of General Practitioners, and previous president of the British Medical Association, who will deliver the keynote on "Healthcare: what is it for?" 
Karen Titchener, recently appointed to The Scottish Parliament as Scotland's first Patient Safety Commissioner. will be attending and speaking briefly about this new role.                                                                                                                                          

We will be discussing critical issues in healthcare, and asking why both evidence and values matter when we - or others - make decisions.

Professor Kevin Orr - Ghosts in the healthcare machine.

Dr Joseph Millum - What are values?
Dr Margaret McCartney : A brief history of not-evidenced based medicine
